Middle Years
The onset of adolescence and the growth into adulthood is a crucial period in the life of a young person.
The Dean of Students for the Middle Years (Years 7 – 9) works closely with the Year Directors to monitor the personal development courses and to ensure adequate pastoral and co-curricular programmes to complement the academic formation of our students.
The emphasis in the Middle Years curriculum is on the core subjects – English, Mathematics, Science, Religious Education, and History. A language (Chinese, Italian, Indonesian, French and Latin are offered) is also compulsory from Year 8 to Year 10. Art, Drama and Geography are compulsory in Year 8.
All subjects in the Middle Years are taught by specialist teachers. There are extension and enrichment courses and activities for students of high intellectual potential (SHIP).
