Saint Ignatius' College is an extraordinary School, made so by a tradition of educational excellence established by the Jesuit Fathers in 1951.

The College is one of four Jesuit Schools in Australia, part of the group of more than seven hundred Jesuit Colleges, Primary Schools and Universities throughout the world, which educate about one and a half million students currently, in sixty-six countries.

Girls were first admitted in 1971 and in 1996 the College became completely co-educational from Reception through to the completion of secondary schooling. The Junior School (Reception to Year 6) is situated on the Norwood Campus and the Middle Years (Years 7 to 9) and Senior Years (Years 10 to 12) at Athelstone.

The staff consists of lay and Jesuit teachers committed to maintaining the Jesuit philosophy of education. As a Jesuit school, we provide students with meticulous care in the development of their imaginative, affective and creative dimensions and assist each child to mature gradually in all these areas. This enriches their learning and prevents it from being a solely intellectual pursuit.
